Arranging 3-Digit Numbers: A Beginner’s Guide

Arranging 3-digit numbers means putting them in order from smallest to largest or largest to smallest. To do this, start by looking at the hundreds place, which is the first digit of the number. The number with the smallest hundreds digit comes first. If the hundreds digits are the same, check the tens place next. Still tied? Look at the ones place to decide the order. For example, when arranging 345, 372, and 321, the order from smallest to largest is 321, 345, 372.

This skill helps us understand which numbers are bigger or smaller and is useful for sorting, comparing, and problem-solving. Want to practice arranging numbers with easy steps and fun activities? Download our free guide to learn more and try your hand at examples with colorful illustrations!
