EMC has been organizing family Math Quests since the school started. It is a great way to promote math among kids and bring the community together.
Earlier this month, we held such a Quest, "The Great Fairy Tale Scramble", in Murdock Park in San Jose, CA.

This was a family adventure, where participants found themselves being sucked into the world of scrambled fairy tales and encountered a maze of riddles and challenges. Along the way, they met curious creatures in need of help to unravel their tales and restore order to the chaos around them. Kids and their parents had to use their logic and problem-solving skills to decipher puzzles and follow clues, all while navigating twists and turns to find their way back home. (think escape room style, but in a park setting!)
It was truly heartwarming to watch families work together as teams, solving puzzles and enjoying themselves during our Math Quest! It's incredible to see the laughter and excitement as parents and children collaborate, each contributing their unique skills and perspectives. The joy on their faces as they crack a tough problem and the high-fives exchanged after every success make the day unforgettable. This event not only sharpens minds but also strengthens bonds, creating cherished memories that last a lifetime.
